Relaxed morning. Breakfast. Drive to the neighboring Rabbit Island. Walk along an almost deserted beach. Warmth. Strange to think that we were walking on ice yesterday and warm sand today. I even took my (new) walking shoes off to experience the sand between my toes. And took the legs off my trousers. First time that we've been warm since arriving in New Zealand. Then drove to have lunch and glass of wine in a vineyard. And then a bit further up the hill to another vineyard with another spectacular view and delicious wine selection. This is the life.
For dinner we went to church. Actually a church converted into a restaurant. That in itself was not that strange (there are plenty of these in other countries, right?). But it was strange that you had to cook your own steak, at the table, on a piece of stone heated to 400C! I think Harri thought he really had died and gone to heaven (if you'll excuse the pun). So we were sitting in a church cooking meat on a stone. Primitive or sophisticated? Votes on a postcard please.
Can't wait for our excursion tomorrow. We are kayaking and walking in the Abel Tasman National Park.
